Need some inspiration for an awesome alternative wedding?
If you’re planning an alternative wedding in the UK, you’ve come to the right place. Recently I was asked to photograph the Til’ Death Wedding Fair over in Leeds and met some amazing suppliers! There were so many fantastic people and the whole day’s vibe was all about community and non-judgemental, non-traditional wedding loveliness! Here are some suppliers that would make your alternative wedding really stand out from the crowd…

Alternative Wedding Cakes
What a place to start! I’ve been quite vocal in the past about the fact that your wedding cake doesn’t have to be cake (I’m thinking cheese or even a stack of strategically placed macarons). But if you’re after a cake to really get your guests talking and looks and tastes incredible, these suppliers have got your back.
Alternative Wedding Dresses
If you or your partner are thinking of wearing a wedding dress, I have a secret to share – it doesn’t have to be white! I saw the most incredible dresses at the wedding fair that have totally made me want to get married again, just to wear one. Oh how I would love to photograph these dresses on a newlywed.. what a dream!
Alternative Celebrants
I whole-heartedly recommend a celebrant led wedding. They are so personal and fun – definitely no dull moments in one of these ceremonies! We were lucky enough to see both celebrants deliver a mock ceremony and both of them were such fun! We saw a beautiful handfasting delivered by Alternative Ceremonies UK, and an audience participation, lego themed ceremony by Starrgazing Celebrant. Brilliant!

Alternative Wedding Styling
The styling that was on show at the wedding fair was truly incredible. Every set up had been thought out and purposeful and just truly beautiful. If you are looking to create a whole alternative/gothic vibe, these are your people.

Alternative Wedding Flowers
The florals at the Til Death Wedding Fair were so so beautiful! I loved that some of them were also incorporated into table set ups around the venue. The great thing about artificial bouquets is not only that they look amazing, they will last forever too.

Stationary
Sam at Prim and Glad is just amazing. Not only does she create the most stunning stationary, including invites and seating plans, she also runs Neon Rainbow Design which is equally as magical.

Music
I’ve got the whole package for you here, you lucky humans. Lily Kerbey has the most amazing voice – I almost missed her as I thought it was another song being played by the DJ – oops! She plays some absolute tunes in a way that your granny would love too (I mean this as a compliment, promise!) and her cover of Slipknot was beautiful. Metal Monkey was there showcasing their DJ set up, playing an awesome soundtrack. They also offer bands and tribute shows too.
Videographers
Adding a videographer to your wedding day is the perfect way to treasure all the moments in their entirety. After meeting both of these ladies, I would honestly love to have the chance to work with either of them. They are super passionate and talented and a whole lot of fun!
