Alt Wedding Photography That Gives A Damn
Doing It Differently (For The Planet Too)
I’m not just here for the chaos and the cool shots at alt weddings; I’m here to try and do my part for the world too. I’m doing my best to be a sustainable wedding photographer.
I’m not going to stand here and tell you I’m an eco warrior. I’m not that awesome yet. I drive a petrol car, I use electricity, and I’m not perfect. But I do genuinely care about our planet, and I make considered choices wherever I can. Because if everyone in the wedding industry did a little bit more, it would make a big difference.
Here’s how I’m trying not to trash the planet while documenting your love story:
A Tree For Every Wedding
Every single wedding booking I take results in a tree being planted through Ecologi, supporting reforestation right here in the UK. It’s a small thing, but it’s a real thing – your big day literally leaves something behind. Long after the confetti has been swept up and the cake has been eaten, there’s a tree growing somewhere because of you two. I think that’s pretty cool π€
Almost Paperless
Contracts, invoices, questionnaires, brochures – almost all of it is digital in your own online client portal. My brochures are viewed online and accessed via QR codes, so there’s minimal printing involved, and anything that does get printed is fully recyclable. No unnecessary paper or printing things out for the sake of it. Just the bits that actually matter, super easy and digital.
A Welcome Pack That Doesn’t End Up In A Bin
When you book with me, you’ll get a welcome pack. Everything in it is either reusable or recyclable, including any printed bits. No plastic tat. Just some really cool things to put on your fridge and some super yummy zombie sweets. Everything I send you has been chosen with that in mind.
Low Emissions on the Road
I drive a 1 litre Toyota Aygo X which is one of the most fuel-efficient petrol cars on the road. I’m not going to pretend it’s an EV, but it is a considered choice. Small engine, lower emissions, and I plan my travel efficiently so I’m not clocking up unnecessary miles. Not perfect, but definitely better.
Digital-First Gallery Delivery
Your photos and films are delivered via a beautiful online gallery – no discs, no USB drives, no non-recyclable packaging. Just a stunning, accessible digital gallery delivered straight to your inbox, that you can share with literally everyone you’ve ever met within about thirty seconds π€π»Β
A Low-Waste Business
No office. No warehouse. Just a one-woman band working from home. My business footprint is already a fraction of what larger studios generate, and I intend to keep it that way. Less overhead, less waste, more of the budget going into actually doing the work well.
Thoughtful Product Choices
When physical products are involved (albums, prints, packaging etc) I choose my suppliers carefully. Quality over quantity, materials that are built to last, and nothing that exists purely to look impressive in a box before being thrown away. Your wedding album should still be sitting on a shelf in a hundred years!! Everything I offer is chosen with that longevity in mind.
Small Choices, Real Impact
None of this is about being preachy or perfect. It’s about being the kind of person that thinks before they act. I want to run a business that considers the impact of the small decisions as well as the big ones. If you’re the kind of couple who cares about this stuff too, then honestly, we’re already on the same page.
