An alternative wedding photographer in the Midlands

As an alternative wedding photographer and videographer, I thought I’d give you something a little more interesting than your average photographer’s bio, so I’ve racked my brain to think of a few fun facts. And because I bloody love a list, I’ve separated them into what I reckon are positives and not-so-positives for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!

The sweet…

I am most proud of being a mum to my two little boys – Elijah and Axel – the absolute loves of my life. Even if they do drive me up the wall sometimes!
Working with other people’s children is easy (my background in teaching helps there!) – my own boys are a different story altogether when having their photos taken!
I know all the words to The Rocky Horror Picture Show – I do a mean Frank N. Furter if I do say so myself… (and yes, this is totally in my good list…)
Day-long bursts of energy/adrenaline when shooting comes naturally. Being a wedding photographer and bouncing all over the place, this is the secret sauce (although I am prone to a photographer’s hangover in the morning where my thighs feel the BURN from all the acrobatics!) Totally worth it though.

The sour…

I HATE having my photo taken – I am MUCH more comfortable behind the camera, thank you very much!
Dropping vague film references into conversation that very few people ever get is a regular occurrence.
I’m a total metal-head – give me a mosh pit over a dancefloor any day – actually, give me both
My sense of humour can be a little dark and dry… This could mean that we get along very well…

As an alternative wedding photographer and videographer, my style is mostly documentary – capturing the little moments that you may not have been part of on the day. This means you get to look back on these as a couple and you are totally back there in the moment. I’m a hybrid shooter which means I can capture both photos and video on your wedding day.

At your wedding, you will definitely see me rocking my awesome Spider Camera Holster (see pic) making sure I get ALLLLL the shots and feeling like a quick-draw master while I’m at it.

what makes me a non-traditional wedding photographer?

Your wedding is not a photoshoot

You’ve spent so long planning your best day ever, the last thing you want to do is stand around having your photo taken instead of partying with your chosen people! It’s important to get those ‘hero shots’ but I promise to get that done in the quickest and most fun way possible so you can get back to your celebrations.

It’s all about the moments

I always keep my eyes peeled to capture the moments that my couples may miss on the day. Weddings are so packed full of fun, love and things to do, that they fly by in an absolute whirlwind. My job is to capture all that loveliness for you to look back on and remember, and even to include some surprises for you to see for the very first time!

I love to capture the little moments that mean the most; a smile between family, a first kiss as newlyweds, a whispered secret between siblings and mostly, just plain silliness! What can I say, I just love ‘LOVE’!

My claim to fame as a Northamptonshire wedding photographer…

I was contacted by the local radio station to have a chat and do a pop quiz. I was absolutely bricking it but luckily he was a lovely chap and even turned the ‘pop’ quiz into a rock quiz 🤘🏻
