Kelly and Jamie’s stunning Rockingham Castle wedding

Kelly and Jamie were married at the beautiful Rockingham Castle in summer. The entire day was super chilled out and so incredibly filled with love. With the entire wedding party dressed in black, the vibes were immaculate.

What I love about Rockingham Castle weddings

Rockingham Castle is a fully functioning family home, which truly adds to the family-feel you have as soon as you arrive. The team of staff go above and beyond to ensure that each wedding goes off without a hitch and that every couple gets their dream, fairy tale wedding.

There are lots of little locations throughout Rockingham Castle that are utilised on a wedding day including the Great Hall, Panel Room, Walker’s House, and the beautiful gardens.

The whole wedding day felt luxurious yet laid back; the perfect choice for a relaxed castle wedding.

Wedding prep at The Hotel

Kelly got ready at the local Best Western Hotel which is just across the road from Rockingham Castle. She was surrounded by her closest friends, sisters and mum, and lots of laughs were had.

Her dad joined us later for a first look which was utterly beautiful and emotional.

The hotel is only a three minute drive away from Rockingham Castle. Kelly arrived at the castle in style in a stunning Dodge Charger, something we definitely made use of for their couples portraits later in the day.

The wedding ceremony at Rockingham Castle

Kelly and Jamie had their wedding ceremony in the Great Hall. The thing I love about this room is the light; there is the most gorgeous stream of natural light that falls perfectly on the couple as they say their vows.

Kelly was walked into the room by her dad. As she arrived at her future husband, she delivered a cheeky slap on the bum, which was met with much laughter.

Kelly and Jamie chose their best friends as their witnesses which was just perfect.

After the ceremony, Kelly and Jamie were treated to bubbles, confetti and a lot of cheering by their guests.

Couples Portraits at Rockingham Castle

There are so many locations within Rockingham Castle that can be used for portraits. The Panel Room inside the castle has incredibly beautiful natural light, and is perfect for some time alone.

The garden was absolutely stunning and had so many little areas. We took a lovely stroll through the gardens and Jamie gave his best ‘Vogue’ pose amongst the roses.

As the sun set over the rolling countryside, we grabbed a couple more photos to capture the dreamy golden glow – this sunset did not disappoint!

Rockingham Castle is the perfect location for entertaining lots of guests as it has so much open space.

The lawn overlooks the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside and is the perfect place for lawn games and shenanigans.

The staff were on hand throughout the reception ensuring that everyone had everything they needed.

The Undercroft at Rockingham Castle is the perfect setting for a packed out dance floor. Jamie, Kelly and their guests absolutely rocked the night away to some awesome tunes.

Night Portraits and fireworks at Rockingham Castle

I loved getting these dramatic night time photos by the turrets of Rockingham Castle.

Kelly and Jamie’s colours were pink and purple, so naturally I got my coloured tube lights out to set the scene. My smoke in a can was sprayed by a couple of their guests to achieve the perfect, dramatic shots.

These fireworks were a doozy as Jamie had planned them as a surprise for Kelly. Little did I know, he had also kept them a surprise from me too. After a brief moment of panic, a guest’s torch light, and the slowest shutter speed I could get whilst handheld, I think I actually got some pretty epic shots…

FINAL THOUGHTS ON Rockingham Castle WEDDINGS

Rockingham Castle is the perfect location for couples wanting a luxurious castle wedding, with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were so attentive and everything ran so smoothly. The castle itself provides an incredible, awe-inspiring backdrop for photos and everything about the day just felt perfect. I highly recommend this fantastic castle venue!
